Ofsted: we are outstanding!

Our school was inspected by Ofsted in February 2024 and judged to be Outstanding in all areas.

GPS = Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling

EXS+ = Achieved Age Related Standard or above

GDS = Achieved Greater Depth Standard

Evendons Primary School consistently outperformed the national averages in all areas for both EXS+ and GDS, showing strong academic achievement.

Compared to Wokingham, Evendons excelled in EXS+ in most areas but was often slightly behind in GDS, particularly in GPS and Maths. However, our Writing performance stands out, being stronger in both EXS+ and GDS.

Analysis:

According to the DfE, Nationally, 29% of all pupils scored 25- statistically, this was an increase of 2% on the previous year. The mean score was 20.2 out of 25. Therefore, Evendons Primary School significantly outperformed National with 61% of our Year 4 achieving 25 out of 25.

Evendons Primary School achieved higher than Wokingham and National in their Phonics Screen Checks, reflecting strong phonics outcomes for early readers. Additionally, all Year 2 retakes successfully passed with the extra support that was put in place.

Analysis:

Evendons Primary School performed very well in Reception, with 80% of students achieving GLD, which was notably above both Wokingham and the National averages. This indicates strong early development and preparedness for KS1 within the school.

Congratulations letters from Minister for Schools

In 2023, we received two letters from the Education Minister Rt Hon Damian Hinds MP congratulating our pupils and staff for our 2023 phonics results, for which we are in the top 3% nationally, as well as being in the top 200 school in the country for our Year 4 multiplication check.
